All engines for this high-performance pickup are expected to remain the same for 2022, which is welcoming news considering this truck is one of the most capable on the market. Muskegon motorists can haul a max payload of 2,280 pounds and tow up to 13,000 pounds (3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel inline-6) - a 1,000-plus-pound towing capacity increase.

Design
The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 receives new front-end treatment, along with more prominent C-shape headlights. The Denali model features an updated front fascia. The AT4, designed for off-road adventures around Lake Michigan's shores, features an Industry-First Available Carbon-Fiber Composite Bed. The AT4 also has a unique design, showcasing 18-inch machined aluminum wheels with Dark Grey accents, skid plates, red recovery hooks, and a black chrome grille.
Grand Haven shoppers can still get the same cab designs, as the new GMC Sierra is available as a Regular Cab, Double Cab, or Crew Cab. A Long Box (98.4-inch truck bed) comes with the Regular Cab model. A Standard Box (79.4-inch truck bed) is seen on Double Cab models. Crew Cab pickups can come equipped with the Standard Box or Short Box (69.9-inch truck bed).
